Ru Yi Dim Sum, Calamvale
Impressive mall restaurant offering a comprehensive yum cha offering.
A line-up of Brisbane’s leading chefs will delight you, including Ru Yi-Lam, Stanley’s Louis Tikaram and The Fifty Six’s Gerald Ong.
This is closer to the traditional yum cha experience, but the cart has been replaced by an extensive dim sum submenu that gradually increases in price. Dishes range from a wide variety of dumplings (shrimp and chives, shrimp and water chestnuts, assorted mushrooms, to name a few) to pork buns, steamed chicken feet with special sauce, congee, and rice noodle rolls.
Everything is homemade, meaning the meatballs are made fresh and just right. Don’t be put off by its location within the Calamvale Central shopping centre: the restaurant itself is a charming, comfortable little space where you can spend an hour or two. Just make sure you make a reservation because this place absolutely pumps out most services.
