Russell Brand appears in court to face two fresh charges including rape

Russell Brand appeared in court accused of two more sexual offenses, including rape.
The 50-year-old comedian has previously denied two charges of rape, one indecent assault and two sexual assault charges over alleged offenses involving four women between 1999 and 2005.
He was also charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault in relation to two women in December last year.
The former appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon over the new charges. Big Brother’s Big Mouth The presenter spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
The star attended via video link from the US state of Florida, where she currently lives, and wore a light blue denim shirt that buttoned up to her lower chest.
Addressing Mr Brand at the end of the six-minute hearing, Chief Justice Paul Goldspring KC said: “Mr Brand, one of the charges you face are what we call merely indictable charges, which means they can only be tried in the crown court.”
He was bailed to a plea hearing at Southwark Crown Court on February 17 on condition he notify police of any change of address.
The two alleged crimes occurred in London in 2009, according to court documents.
A trial on the five original charges is scheduled to begin at Southwark Crown Court later this year.
The court heard in May that Mr Brand, who has an address in Oxfordshire, was accused of raping a woman attending a Labor Party conference in Bournemouth in her hotel room and then verbally raping a TV worker after grabbing her breasts and dragging her into the men’s toilet.
He also allegedly grabbed a radio station worker’s face, pushed her against the wall and kissed her before groping her breasts and buttocks.
The actor is also accused of indecently assaulting another woman after grabbing her arm and trying to drag her into the men’s toilet.
He was charged following an investigation by Channel 4 and Sunday Times that several women had made allegations against him.
He was married to US pop singer Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012, but the presenter is now married to Kirsty’s sister Laura Gallacher and the couple have two children.
