Russia conducts rolling aerial attack on Ukraine

The Ukrainian air force stated that Russia carried out a continuous air attack on Ukraine, adding that many enemy unmanned aerial vehicles were in Ukrainian airspace.
The bombardment is the second time this week that Russia has followed an overnight drone strike with intense daytime strikes; It’s a new tactic as Moscow explores ways to penetrate Ukraine’s air defenses.
“We can see that the enemy is using new routes, new unmanned aerial vehicles that they are constantly modernizing, and new tactics,” air force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said on state television on Friday. he said.
He said Russia had launched more than 400 long-range UAVs in the last 24 hours, as well as 10 ballistic missiles, primarily targeting areas close to the front line.
Ihnat said the bombardment was similar to Tuesday’s attack, which killed at least four people, in which an overnight bombardment by more than 300 drones was followed by another attack of similar magnitude in the middle of the day.
Large-scale Russian bombings are causing disruptions across Ukraine, with many government institutions, public transport services and businesses closing during the attack, which can last for hours.
Ihnat said, “The enemy is putting pressure on our population and paralyzing the work of some public institutions and educational institutions.”
Governor Oleh Synehubov said in a statement on social media that one person died and 25 people were injured in missile, bomb and drone attacks in the eastern region of Kharkiv in the last 24 hours.
This included four ballistic missiles that hit the regional capital, also called Kharkiv, overnight.
Authorities reported that only one person was injured in this attack.
