‘Salad Man’ at White House dinner keeps calm and carries on eating after Trump assassination attempt

Amidst the chaos of the White House Correspondents’ dinner assassination attempt, there were acts of extreme bravery, but also some that looked downright strange and even a little suspicious in the cold light of day.
The actions of a man nicknamed ‘Salad Man’ have raised eyebrows online after a gunman opened fire just outside the Washington Hilton ballroom on Saturday night local time.
While others either ran away or ducked to hide under tables, he remained seated, eating a spring pea and buffalo burrata salad, as U.S. President Donald Trump and other senior administration officials were whisked away by Secret Service agents.
‘Salad Man’ has now been identified as Michael Glantz, a senior agent at Creative Artists Agency.
It explained his seemingly indifferent attitude towards the frightening scenes unfolding around him.
“I’m a New Yorker,” he said in a video post. White House Correspondents Insiderof Instagram.
“We live with sirens and constant activity. I wasn’t afraid. There are hundreds of Secret Service agents jumping over tables and chairs, and I wanted to watch.”

As for why he didn’t join nearly all the dinner guests hiding under the tables, he explained: “First of all, I have a bad back. I couldn’t get up on the floor, and if I fell, they’d have to call people to help me off the floor. And No. 2, I’m a hygiene freak. There was no way I was getting my new tuxedo on on the dirty Hilton floor. It wasn’t happening.”
The internet loves his coldness as an ice response.
“This is what one wants in life. Just a few minutes of peace and quiet all around so you can finish your salad,” one wrote.
Another wrote: “I crave this man’s coolness. Keep his tuxedo and pass my dressing up bro!”
“Chaos around. Stay calm at the table. Keep my salad safe,” another chimed in.
Meanwhile, the actions of others have also come under scrutiny in the moments following what is believed to be the third attempt on Donald Trump’s life; A flamboyantly dressed woman was caught on camera stealing alcohol from one of the apparently abandoned tables.

Many people did not like the woman’s shameless act.
“So there are members of the press stealing wine bottles: that’s the press! Disgusting!”
Another wrote: “Members of the press at WHCD are literally stealing wine bottles after last night’s chaos. The video shows them picking up multiple unopened bottles from tables as if it were a public bar. Classy as ever from the elite media. A perfect visual of who they really are.”
But others praised the woman for grabbing the drink. “Priority level: elite Has there been shooting? Is there chaos everywhere? Doesn’t matter. The “journalist” ensured that the wine bottles were stolen after the conflict at the White House correspondent’s dinner.”
Another wrote: “Brother, they paid over $350 per plate and the night was canceled early, free wine tax refund is fair game.”
