San Diego freeway encampment cleared, loads of trash removed
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Caltrans and the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) announced that a campground on Interstate 5 in San Diego was cleared this week.
Caltrans on Thursday I took it to social media The announcement was made to announce that a campground along I-5 in San Diego had been cleared and crews had removed seven cubic yards of debris, enough to fill about three pickup trucks.

Officials bid on camping services for two people, Caltrans said.
The City of San Diego has protocols regarding: Cleaning and Reducing the CampsiteThis includes giving 24 hours notice before any cleaning, as well as allowing people to collect their belongings afterwards. Items are stored for 90 days. Individuals can call 858-694-7000 and a City employee will return their items to them.
San Diego’s Safe Sleep Program It provides homeless individuals with a place to stay off the streets and traditional shelters.
California Highway Patrol, El Cajon District Officerecently assigned an officer to deal solely with homeless encampments in the community.
