Despite strong objections by some components, a San Francisco supervisor was recalled after successfully pushing a coastal highway used by neighborhood drivers intensively by neighborhood drivers.
Joel Engardio was the fifth elected official in San Francisco within four years in his recall vote. In a statement, he said that he accepted the result and had a decision to help create a park called Sunset Dunes.

Mayor Daniel Lurie, a moderate democrat like Engardio, will take its place. Engardio was ready to be re -elected next year.
