Sankranti Rush: traffic management stepped up in Sathya Sai district

The sudden increase in vehicular movement on inter-district and inter-state border roads has prompted the Sri Sathya Sai district police to implement an action plan for traffic management ahead of the Sankranti festival as people head towards their hometowns.

To ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow and effective maintenance of law and order, the district police have intensified security arrangements at all border posts.

Police have deployed drone surveillance in sensitive border areas to constantly monitor traffic congestion, regulate movement and detect violations in real time. Additional police personnel have been deployed at key locations, checkpoints and accident-prone areas, while constant monitoring is maintained to ensure rapid response to any emergency or unforeseen incident.

Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar said special traffic regulation centers have been set up at toll plazas to ease congestion and focused measures have been taken at high density traffic points along National Highways. He called on passengers to cooperate with authorities, strictly obey traffic rules and avoid speeding or drunk driving.

Prioritizing road safety, SP reiterated the need to wear a helmet and seat belt, obey traffic signs, avoid using mobile phones while driving, overtake carefully, ensure the correct use of headlights at night, and respect pedestrians and two-wheeled vehicles.
