Sara Carter recalls tense 2016 CIA meeting where Brennan asked about Trump

Journalist Sara Carter sheds new light on a private meeting held at CIA headquarters in 2016; where he said then-CIA Director John Brennan questioned him about President Donald Trump and Michael Flynn.
speaking on “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” In the podcast, Carter talked about his tense meeting with Brennan in 2016 and what it told him about the future.
“It was interesting,” Carter said of his 45-minute interview with Brennan in December 2016. “He asked me, ‘What do you think of President-elect Trump and Michael Flynn?’ he asked.
“I asked him, ‘How do you want me to feel about President-elect Trump and Michael Flynn?’ I said. And it all ended there,” he said, noting that the “conversation” ended as the interview continued.

In 2016, the FBI launched a counterintelligence investigation codenamed “Crossfire Hurricane” into allegations of Russian election interference and connections to Trump campaign associates, including Flynn. Brennan was the Obama administration’s CIA director at the time.

Flynn, a retired Army lieutenant general and new national security adviser, became the subject of the investigation after speaking to Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on a phone line monitored by U.S. intelligence about sanctions imposed by former President Barack Obama.
Flynn’s name was suppressed in intelligence transcripts of those searches, but declassified documents showed that Brennan later requested that Flynn’s identity be disclosed. Flynn pleaded guilty in 2017 after admitting he lied to the FBI about sanctions-related discussions. Trump pardoned Flynn in 2020.

Carter said during the 2016 interview that he felt Brennan was trying to gauge his political loyalty.
“I think he realized at that moment that I wasn’t going to be tricked,” Carter said.
Carter currently serves as director of the Trump administration’s White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and is also known as the “drug czar.” In a statement Once confirmed, Carter vowed to fight against narco-terrorists.
