Sarah Ferguson had ‘whirlwind affair while pregnant and introduced her lover to Beatrice’ | Royal | News

A book has claimed that Sarah Ferguson had a “whirlwind affair” with the “love of her life”, who allegedly introduced her to her daughter Princess Beatrice, and that this person was not Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Fergie, as she is affectionately known, has had a rough few weeks following recent revelations about her ex-husband’s relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and the subsequent revocation of her and her ex-husband’s titles.

Sarah and Andrew divorced in 1996 but maintained a close relationship and lived together at the Royal Lodge until now. They are now having to move out, and although the former Duchess of York once claimed she felt like the “luckiest girl in the world” for marrying a “handsome prince” on the eve of the royal wedding in July 1986, it wasn’t Andrew she fell “head over heels” for, a book claims.

The royal couple welcomed their first daughter, Princess Beatrice, in 1986 and their second daughter, Princess Eugenie, in 1990, but by then, cracks had allegedly begun to appear in their marriage due to Andrew’s naval career, leaving the former duchess feeling isolated.

In 2010, she told US TV presenter Ernie Manouse: “My agreement was that I would marry my man, who was a prince and a naval officer. But what I got wasn’t that man; I got the palace, but I didn’t get him. For our marriage, I saw him 40 days a year.”

The royal book claims it was loneliness that caused Fergie to fall in love with another man while she was pregnant and three years after marrying Andrew.

Author David Leigh claimed that Fergie met American Steve Wyatt at the Houston Grand Opera’s British Opera Festival in 1989 and the two quickly fell in love.

In her 1996 book, Duchess of York: Uncensored, written with Vasso Kortesis, she claimed: “Steve Wyatt was the main reason for the breakdown of her marriage.

“She met him at a time in her life when she was extremely weak and she felt like Andrew wasn’t supporting her. She went to Texas and met a very handsome and rich Texan who was very attentive and loving, and they fell in love very quickly. Andrew may have been her best friend, and probably still is, and probably always will be, but Steve Wyatt was the love life of her life.”

Their romance reportedly made headlines, and there were even photos of her with Steve and his daughter Beatrice in January 1992, sparking outrage.

In March 1992, Fergie and Andrew announced their separation, and the couple finalized their divorce in 1996.

In August that year, the toe-sucking scandal emerged when the former duchess was photographed having her toes sucked by John Bryan, her US financial advisor and reportedly one of Steve’s close friends in France.

However, her alleged affair with Steve Wyatt ended in failure after she learned that Steve Wyatt was engaged to Cate Magennis.

She reportedly told a friend: “‘I can’t have the man I love because he’s getting married. What’s wrong with me? Why didn’t he marry me?’

Ms. Ferguson has never commented publicly about the alleged affair.
