Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor heard important family news from his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. A source claims that the former prince learned over the phone that he would become a grandfather for the fifth time.
Princess Eugenie announced last week that she and husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their third child this summer. Eugenie wrote on Instagram: “Baby Brooksbank due in 2026!” There is a photo of her children, August and Ernest, holding an ultrasound image of a pregnancy scan. The Royal Family Instagram account shared the news at the same time and said: “August (5 years old) and Ernest (2 years old) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family. Neither Andrew nor Sarah have commented publicly about Eugenie’s pregnancy. This is in stark contrast to Sarah Ferguson’s August birth five years ago, when she appeared on a magazine cover to promote her debut novel and celebrate her birth.
Whatever the status of their relationship, Andrew and Fergie are undoubtedly thrilled at the prospect of having a new grandchild, according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond.

The royal expert believes that Eugenie is solely focused on her growing family as the scandal surrounding the former Duke and Duchess of York continues, and that the princess and her husband are likely even closer as they have weathered the storm together.
Andrew now lives at Marsh Farm Cottage on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk and was arrested on his 66th birthday in February on suspicion of abuse of public office.
Sarah has been staying in a £2,000-a-night chalet in the Austrian Alps since February. It has only been seen a few times since October 2025.
