Michigan punches ticket to men’s Final Four

The Michigan Wolverines got off to a hot start in the first half against the Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday and never looked back as the Dusty May-led team booked their ticket to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Final Four.

The Wolverines closed the first half on a 21-0 run and finished the game on a 34-10 run. Michigan led Tennessee 48-26 when the first half ended.

Michigan won the game 95-62.

This will be the Wolverines’ first Final Four since 2018. Michigan lost its national championship that season to the Villanova Wildcats.

Michigan star Yaxel Lendeborg dominated the offensive end of the floor for the Wolverines. He led all scorers with 27 points on 10/19 from the field. He added seven rebounds and four assists to his stat line.

Three other Michigan players also scored at least 10 points in the game. Morez Johnson Jr. He finished the game with 12 points and 5 rebounds. He shot 8/11 from the free throw line. Candidate Mara had 11 points and 4 rebounds, and Nimari Burnett had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Elliot Cadeau nearly had a double-double. He had 8 points and 10 assists.

Tennessee shot just 32% from the field and 19% from the three-point line.

Ja’Kobi Gillespie led the Volunteers with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Felix Okpara was the only other Tennessee player to score in double figures. He played with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
