Online child sex sting snares three men, including 2 from Lansing area

MASON — Two Lansing-area men and a Detroit-area man have been charged in connection with an online undercover child sexual assault.
The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office said the men were arrested on Oct. 22 after arranging to meet a person they believed to be a 15-year-old girl for sex.
“The suspects engaged in extensive online communication with undercover officers posing as a 15-year-old girl and eventually arranged to meet with them for sexual purposes,” sheriff’s officials said in a press release. he said.
Court records show the men each face four felonies, including sexually abusing a child and accosting a child for immoral purposes: The most serious charge is a maximum 20-year felony. They appeared in court on the charges on October 24.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by Lansing police, Michigan State Police, Eaton County Sheriff’s Office and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office Global Humanitarian Oppression Team (GHOST).
The defendants are a 37-year-old Lansing man, a 30-year-old East Lansing man and a 24-year-old Farmington Hills man.
