Scenes of celebration in Gaza after peace deal announcement

Palestinians celebrated in the streets of Gaza’s Khan Younis after US President Donald Trump said that Israel and Hamas had agreed on the first phase of the peace agreement.

Under the agreement, Trump said Israel would withdraw its troops “to an agreed-upon line” and all remaining Israeli hostages would be released “very soon.”

Hamas officials and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the agreement, but its timing remains unclear.
