As snowfall continues across much of the UK, some schools in the UK are expected to close on Wednesday. Many schools in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland closed on Tuesday as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for parts of Scotland.

On Wednesday, yellow warnings for snow and ice are in place for northern Scotland, while most of England and southern Scotland will face yellow warnings for ice only from midnight to 10am.
