Scientists attempting to create human DNA

Scientists are trying to create human DNA.
Cambridge, Oxford, Manchester and Urban Universities and London’s teams will spend for five years by writing genetic code.
A group of scientists, WellCome Trust, is hoping to make genetic code from raw chemicals, called the Synhg project, which is a £ 10 million financing.
The project will be managed by Jason Chin from Cambridge’s Medical Research Council Molecular Biology Laboratory.
However, some people have increased ethical concerns about synthetic genomics – “new, designed organisms and cells designed to have a specific function”, such as “designer babies”.
On the other hand, those who support synthetic genomics say that learning how to build DNA will improve people’s understanding of human biology.
Supporters also think that they can pave the way to treat diseases that are currently without treatment.
