Hyderabad Traffic Police to launch special drives against driving without licence from March 1

Hyderabad traffic police will conduct continuous special investigations against drivers driving without a valid driving license (DL) from March 1, 2026, officials said.

The advisory issued by Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis said that all passengers must compulsorily carry a valid driver’s license while driving and appealed to those who do not have a license to obtain it from the Road Transport Authority (RTA). Authorities said that it was observed that the majority of traffic accidents were caused by drivers who did not have a valid driver’s license.

Vehicle owners were also warned not to allow their vehicles to be used by unlicensed persons, and it was stated that allowing such vehicle use is a crime according to the law. Police also warned that in the event of an accident involving a driver without a valid licence, insurance claims will not be accepted and this could lead to serious financial and legal consequences.

Hyderabad traffic police have appealed to people to cooperate and strictly follow traffic rules in the interest of road safety.
