Can you guess who this icon is?
Can you guess the identity of this cinema legend, one half of Hollywood’s oldest living married couple?
If you guessed Bonnie Bartlett, you were right!
This Hollywood legend was spotted running errands in Los Angeles, seemingly alone.
Wearing a white button-up, taupe trousers and a bag slung across her body, this star opted for something light and comfortable for her spring day outing.
It did not seem like Bartlett would be accompanied by her husband, the famous actor William Daniels, who played her husband in three different projects.
The couple married on 30 June 1951 and played each other’s wives on Boy Meets World and St Elsewhere.
These were just a few of the many plays he worked on, including roles in Home Improvement, Parks and Recreation, Grey’s Anatomy, Touched by an Angel, and many more.
She last played Helen in Better Call Saul in 2017 and doesn’t appear to have played any roles since.
Bartlett has been married to actor Daniels since 1951 and together they have three children and four grandchildren.
But fans of the incredibly solid couple may be surprised to learn that they had an open marriage in the early years of their relationship, but had to call off the arrangement because she couldn’t handle the situation.
Bartlett, whose husband William Daniels played teacher George Feeny on the ’90s sitcom, said the arrangement wasn’t unusual at the time and they knew many people in open marriages.
The actress married William, 98, in 1951 and they have been together ever since. But Bartlett told Fox News Digital in 2023 that things didn’t always work out, that the open marriage was ‘very painful’ and that she eventually had to tell William they needed to find a new arrangement.
Bartlett married Daniels when she was just 18 and had never dated anyone before.

“I think it was kind of an open marriage at first, but it was very painful,” she told Fox. ‘That didn’t work very well. And it was a time when people did that.”
‘It was a time in New York where there was a lot of sex and a lot of people were doing all kinds of things, you know, very free.’
‘But I don’t know if there’s a bit of a lack of commitment and that’s not good. So there was a lot of pain associated with any transgression, any extramarital activity.’
The star’s statement came as she released her memoir, The Middle of the Rainbow, which she said aims to serve as a ‘history of women’s experiences’.
Bartlett wrote in her memoirs that in the early days of their marriage she was looking for a “kinder and gentler man” than William.
Bartlett and her husband William Daniels played each other’s wives in three different projects.

She described having ‘an affair that lasted several months’ in 1959. Bartlett said it was with a ‘bit boring actor’ but added that ‘the sex was good’.
‘I never felt guilty because I never felt bound to loyalty, and neither did Bill,’ she said.
Bartlett wrote that in the early 1970s William began seeing a producer and the relationship ‘devastated’ him.
He said that after this experience he ‘could no longer tolerate open marriage’.
Bartlett wrote that she thought their marriage was ‘doomed’ after this affair.
‘Bill and I moved forward day by day and finally the days came together,’ he wrote. ‘We’ve been happy together, we’ve been sad together, and somehow we’ve stayed together for seventy years.’
‘It was very painful for both of us,’ the actress shared. ‘But it was something we had to experience because we never experienced it. I was 18 when we got together. “Bill was my first boyfriend,” she said. ‘We had to go through all this, but we still loved each other very much and always did.
‘[We] We were always there for each other. This is the important thing; if you are there for that person and helping [them] when you’re in a relationship, [have] Respecting them, what they do and being there for them. [You have to] Let’s be together on the other side.’
