Search intensifies for man feared fallen into stream in J&K’s Ramban after assault by cow vigilantes

The young man from the Ramban of J&K, who was reported missing after being attacked by cow vigilantes, was still untraceable on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, three days after the incident. J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly opposed what he claimed was an attempt to disrupt the peace and urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to “ensure strict action”, saying “some elements are trying to create a raja in the forest”.
Mr. Abdullah said, “Some elements that are disturbed by peace want to provoke social tension and unrest. We will act decisively against those who try to establish forest raj here. As long as we are in power, such designs will not be allowed to succeed.”
