Search Operations Continue for Missing Himachal Man

Wayanad: Search operations continued on Saturday, the fifth day since the landslide at the Wayanad tunnel project site in Kalladi on July 7, in which seven people lost their lives and one person is still missing.
Construction manager Vikram Rana from Himachal Pradesh is yet to be found.
District administration officials said that in view of the ongoing search operations, traffic restrictions have been imposed on vehicles plying the Chooralmala-Meppadi area via Meenakshi Bridge, except for essential services.
They also said that vehicles traveling in both directions on that route will be allowed only two hours apart.
Search efforts are being carried out by the National Disaster Response Force, Police Special Operations Group, Fire Brigade and teams of volunteer organizations.
The landslide occurred on July 7 at the site of the Anakkomoyil-Meppadi tunnel project, which is intended to connect Wayanad and Kozhikode districts.
