Search underway for owner of winning lottery ticket – and they only have a month to claim £1million prize
The National Lottery has launched a campaign to find the owner of an unclaimed £1 million Lotto ticket.
The winning ticket, purchased in Birmingham, matched the five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball in the draw held on 24 May 2025.
The deadline to claim the life-changing award is November 20, 2025, and time is running out.
The winning numbers were 9, 12, 13, 26, 38 and 40, and the Bonus Ball was 4.
The Lotto team took to the streets of Birmingham this week in a last-ditch bid to find the elusive winner, raising awareness by visiting iconic landmarks and National Lottery-funded venues such as the rooftop of the Birmingham Library.
Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at National Lottery operator Allwyn, said: “We urge Lotto players to check their tickets in case they are our missing Lotto millionaire.
The ticket expires on Thursday 20 November 2025 and our message is simple: if you played the 24 May Lotto draw in Birmingham, check your ticket because it could be you!
“Tell your friends, talk to your colleagues, and ask your family and anyone you know who plays the Lotto to double-check their tickets. It might trigger a memory of the game or remind them of where they put the ticket for safe keeping back in May!”
Surprisingly, Birmingham is also home to another unclaimed fortune. The EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker ticket for the 15 August 2025 draw has not yet been claimed, with a deadline of 11 February 2026.

National Lottery winners have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prizes. Those who believe they have a winning ticket for any National Lottery draw within 180 days should call the National Lottery Line at 0333 234 5050.
If no-one claims the prize by the deadline, the money and any interest it generates will be used to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK, operators said.
