Marc Guehi: Crystal Palace captain could be sold, says chairman Steve Parish

Crystal Palace President Steve Parish said he would sell Captain Marc Guuehi this summer to avoid losing him at the end of the club’s contract.

In January, Eagles rejected offers from Newcastle United to the defender Guuehi – the last one worth £ 65 million – hoping that the defender would sign a new agreement in southwest London.

However, the UK International has now entered the last 12 months of its agreement in the Karast Park and does not seem closer to extending its contract.

Guehi is said to be open to stay with the club until 2026, at this point can be separated from free transfer.

However, Parish says that the club will reluctantly choose to make money for Guuehi this summer.

“Of course we have to do this, Par Parish said.

“Unfortunately, this is a problem for us for the free players of this caliber.

“Joachim [Andersen] gone [to Fulham last summer] And we couldn’t afford to lose both.

“Then we had another offer [for Guehi] In January, but this was a different situation.

He continued: “We just need to see what will happen. But you know, he needs a new contract or some kind of conclusion.”

Liverpool is interested in Guehi, but it is seen whether Arne Slot’s side will spend a big spend on a player who can get free of charge in 2026.

It is believed that the palace wants about £ 40 million for the Guuehi, but Liverpool wants to pay less than this figure.

The Reds spent approximately 270 million pounds this summer, but they compensated around £ 170 million through the player sales.
