Seattle man sentenced in case where 20 ghost guns were found in his apartment

U.S. Attorney’s Office – Western District of Washington says A 26-year-old Seattle man was sentenced to more than two years in prison after police found he had turned his apartment into a weapons workshop.

Andre Justice Atwater was tried for possession of a machine gun after police found several weapons in his apartment.

Atwater was arrested in June 2024 after shooting two men with a high-caliber BB gun in the parking lot of his apartment in the Chinatown-International District.

During a search of Atwater’s apartment, they found that he had turned his bedroom into a weapons workshop.

Police found 25 guns made in his apartment, 20 of which were ghost guns.

Additionally, 103 ‘Glock key’ devices that can convert Glock pistols into automatic weapons such as machine guns were also found.

Assistant United States Attorney Todd Greenberg requested a 3-year prison sentence due to the number of keys found in his apartment.

“This is a very serious crime,” said U.S. District Judge James L. Robart. “The (most common illegal use of 3D printers) is to produce illegal firearms.”

He was given three years probation in addition to more than two years for possession of a machine gun and less than a year for the BB gun assault.
