Secret Service rushed Trump to safety at White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner shooting

Witnesses in the ballroom described a scene of chaos during the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner as Secret Service rushed to get President Donald Trump and other senior officials to safety.

The host of the program is Michael Duncan “Ruthless” podcast, He described the moment he saw law enforcement officers running towards the stage over the weekend.

“The Secret Service showed up and piled up, ran toward the stage, guns drawn and everything,” Duncan said in the “Ruthless” episode that aired Tuesday. “Take out Trump, take out JD, take out the whole pulpit.”

He said law enforcement rushed in to take the President and Vice President J.D. Vance, as well as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other Cabinet members to safety. As the incident progressed, Duncan said he realized no one would come to help him during the chaos.

“When they started letting more people out, I thought, ‘I guess I don’t have a companion. I guess I’m on my own here,'” the host jokingly said. he said.

Duncan’s “Ruthless” co-host Josh Holmes laughed and exaggerated the joke, adding, “Hey, where’s my man?” Duncan responded: “I didn’t know I needed a man. Everyone has one!”

Cole Allen, 31, is accused of opening fire at the Washington Hilton hotel over the weekend. He faces three federal charges, including attempting to assassinate the president, carrying a firearm across state lines and using a firearm during a crime of violence.

Trump was removed from the hotel after gunshots were heard. This is the same hotel where a gunman attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, more than 40 years ago.

This was Trump’s first appearance at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner as president during either term. In televised remarks from the White House briefing room following the shooting, Trump promised the event would be rescheduled.

“This was an event dedicated to free speech that was supposed to bring members of both parties together with members of the press, and in a way it did, because they were united,” Trump said. “I saw a room that was completely integrated. It was beautiful in a way, a beautiful thing to see.”

U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro, told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham that she felt federal prosecutors had a “solid case” against the suspect, adding: “It’s very clear what his intent was…it was to kill the president.”
