Secrets of Meghan’s ‘glowing’ skin after homeless shelter resident complimented her wrinkle-free complexion – from Kate Moss massage tip to £83 longevity serum

The Duchess of Sussex was showered with praise yesterday as she served lunch to homeless women in Melbourne on the first day of her Australian tour with Prince Harry.
Visiting a shelter run by McAuley Women’s Community Services, Meghan was praised by one resident for her “glowing” skin and was said to look “like a model”.
The woman, named Leah, continued: ‘You have no wrinkles.’
Meghan replied: ‘That’s very generous, you’re so nice!’
So what are the secrets behind the Duchess’s youthful glow? Luckily, the 44-year-old former actress has previously revealed some of her best skin care tips.
These include the odd facial massage, an £83 Japanese longevity serum, infrared saunas and ‘trying to eat as clean as possible’.
She also relied on makeup tricks like contouring and using blush, such as NARS’s Orgasm blush, £35.50, to give her cheeks a radiant glow.
The mother-of-two enlisted the help of London-based facialist Nichola Joss, who once counted Kate Moss and Jennifer Lopez among her A-list clients.
Nichola is famous for her bizarre ‘inner facial’, which costs £250 and involves her massaging the inside of her clients’ mouths.
The Duchess of Sussex was showered with compliments yesterday as she served lunch to homeless women in Melbourne on the first day of her Australian tour with Prince Harry.
Speaking to Birchbox, Meghan said: ‘I’ve been doing facial exercises taught to me by one of my favorite aestheticians, Nicola Joss; It basically allows you to shape your face from the inside out. I swear it works, no matter how stupid you feel.
‘On the days I do this, my cheekbones and jawline are much more shaped. There’s a reason why she’s in high demand during awards season, when every actress wants to look A+.’
In addition to massaging the outside of your face during a facial, Joss wears surgical gloves and massages your face from the inside of your mouth.
Meghan previously said: ‘Nichola massages your face from the inside out (yes, really), sculpts your cheekbones and reshapes your face with targeted movements to lift and brighten.’
Aside from this strange treatment, the Duchess also once credited her mother Doria, a yoga teacher and social worker, for her skin color. It was Doria who insisted that Meghan start professional facials at the age of 13; It is thought that he continues this habit.
Recalling their first visit to the beautician, Meghan shared on her old Instagram account: ‘It looked so ridiculous at the time. On the way home, my mother said: “You should always take care of your skin.”‘
Despite her skepticism, the Duchess soon felt her mother was right and is thought to have been diligent about paying attention to her skin colour.
“Being confident in my skin requires some maintenance, like drinking plenty of water, always applying sunscreen, and getting facials as often as possible,” she said.

Elsewhere, Meghan raved about Nivea’s Skin Firming Moisturizing Body Lotion (£13 for 500ml). ‘Honestly this is my favorite lotion… [it] It makes my skin look and feel great,’ she once said.
Meanwhile, in 2015, she said she sat in an infrared sauna every week, which uses heaters to emit infrared light to “sweat out all the toxins.”
Meghan also sees her diet as a weapon in her battle against aging. “As I get older, my approach to aging becomes quite different,” he previously said.
‘I take care of my skin and body. And I don’t just take care of myself for aesthetic reasons, but because how I feel is determined by what I eat, how much rest I get, and how much water I drink.
‘I definitely try to eat as clean as possible,’ she said. ‘Mostly fish and veggies, but I’m also a foodie so all bets are off on the weekend.’
Along with an elaborate skin-care routine and healthy diet, Meghan also relies on makeup to boost her youthful skin.
She explained how she uses cosmetics to strengthen her bone structure: ‘I always put concealer on the bridge of my nose, highlighter on my cheekbones and a bit of shimmer in the corner of my eye.
‘These contouring tricks really help sculpt your face.’

In October 2025, the Duchess’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin, further revealed the secrets behind Meghan’s “radiant” look.
To attend the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week, the Montecito royal enlisted the help of longtime friend and makeup artist Daniel, who designed Prince Harry’s 2018 wedding day makeup look, to master her skin tone for the event.
The artist, who appears in the Duchess’ Netflix series, used an unusual technique by combining Meghan’s foundation with a £83 long-lasting serum from luxury Japanese skincare brand Tatcha to create a refreshed look.
he took instagram He wanted to explain his technique, but first thanked his followers for their kind words. ‘I just want to come and say thank you so much for all your love and support, it’s been overwhelming to be honest.’
Martin, Tatcha’s global artistic and education director, continued: ‘I did my usual skin prep with it, which was lots of Tatcha, and I’m not saying this because I’m with the brand but it’s a skincare ritual I have in my bag and I [have] I have used it on all my clients for years.
‘The switch was that I actually mixed the Tatcha Longevity serum with the foundation and I think that added another layer of shine to her makeup which made it look even more hydrated and radiant.
‘I often use foundation with my hands, so when I apply it, it’s like a massage… I’ll use a brush to get more coverage and then use a sponge to blend it out.’
She continued: ‘As for powder, she only has powder in the T-zone of her face. No loose dust all over. I just wanted to remove the shine in the middle of her forehead and around her nose, and the powder I used was Paris Berlin press powder.

‘It’s a Parisian make-up brand, I think you can only find it in Paris and whenever I go to Paris I go there to shop. It’s like a theater industry makeup store, which is great.
‘Tom Ford cheek contour cream. I only use contour; I kind of use it like a bronzer and I also have the Tatcha serum stick added on top so it gives this an added glow.
‘We wanted everything to be light, fresh and sparkling. You’ve just flown and your skin is dehydrated from the plane, so I wanted to add some moisture to your skin and give it some life.
‘Her lipstick, I had a few Tom Ford lipstick options and the lipstick she chose was the iconic nude, this beautiful mauve kind of pink and we use Makeup Forever lip liner and that was it.
‘The eye shadow was just brown, I made a halo effect, [and] mascara. I introduced her to this Mac mascara, which she loves. It’s all about beautiful, structured brows, keeping things fresh and shiny.
‘If you come from fashion like me, it’s not about the makeup; It’s just about looking beautiful, sparkly and polished.’
She concluded: ‘I’d love to put it on my lips one day, Meghan if you’re watching this, let’s do a lip, I’d love to see you on a lip.’
The creator added in the post’s caption: ‘Wow what a great reaction you all had to this look Meghan wore for the Balenciaga show last Saturday night!
‘It’s been a whirlwind but I wanted to quickly give some insight behind the skincare/makeup approach we take. Hope this helps anyone looking to recreate at home! Sending love.’
Prince Harry and Meghan are currently embarking on a four-day tour Down Under, which some suggest is a “money-making” exercise in “self-promotion”.
After landing in Melbourne on a business class flight from Los Angeles yesterday, the Sussex couple said they were happy to be in the country without their children, four-year-old Prince Archie and six-year-old Princess Lilibet.
After visiting the Royal Children’s Hospital, Meghan held a solo event at McAuley Women’s Community Services, a shelter for homeless people and women experiencing domestic violence, where she wore a striped apron while serving food to residents.
A clip filmed at the shelter showed a resident complimenting Meghan’s ‘glowing’ skin while saying ‘you look like a model!’ He can be heard shouting.
Meghan wore a $1,250 navy blue dress by Australian designer Karen Gee and paired it with $1,000 “Dioresence” pointed-toe heels from Dior, which first released in 2023.
Adding a sparkly touch to her ensemble, Meghan wore $1,118 yellow gold Puffy Heart earrings from Australia’s Real Fine Studio, a Tiffany gold bracelet, and Princess Diana’s gold Cartier Tank Française watch.
It is understood Meghan specifically chose the McAuley facility for the visit.
“It’s great that there’s attention to the whole issue of homelessness and domestic violence, and he’s going to bring that attention to this facility, so that’s good,” McAuley CEO Jocelyn Bignold told reporters.
‘Women are excited to see and meet him. They’re also a little nervous.”
He added that some residents were aware of Meghan’s lifestyle show As Ever and were looking forward to cooking with her in the centre’s kitchen.
