3 killed in shooting in Australia on day of mourning for Bondi attack victims | World News

At least three people were killed in a shooting at Lake Cargelligo in Australia’s New South Wales state on Thursday afternoon, police said.
New South Wales police confirmed the victims included two women and a man, while another man was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition after the incident.
Emergency services were called to Walker Street near Yelkin Street in Lake Cargelligo at around 16.40 local time after hearing gunshots.

The shooting comes just a month after a father-son attack on a Jewish festival at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on December 14, 2025, which killed 15 people and deeply affected the country.
The event also took place on the same day Australia declared a national day of mourning for the victims of the Bondi Beach massacre, with millions of people demanding a minute’s silence on the east coast at 7.01pm.
The shooting occurred just over a month after a father-son team killed 15 people during a mass shooting at a Jewish festival in Australia’s Bondi Beach on Dec. 14, 2025, in a tragedy that shocked the country.
