Semi-finalists confirmed after latest elimination

BBC/PASpoiler alert: This article reveals details of Sunday’s elimination
Just four couples remain on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing 2025 after another celebrity and their professional partner were eliminated from the competition.
Former Emmerdale star Lewis Cope and partner Katya Jones were among the final two couples, along with reality TV star Amber Davies and dance partner Nikita Kuzmin, following their performances at the music week.
The jury decided to send Cope home, who performed salsa from West Side Story to Dance At The Gym.
Davies, who danced the Charleston to Guys And Dolls’ Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat song, joined Balvinder Sopal, George Clarke and Karen Carney in the semi-finals.
“It was so much more than I wanted,” Cope said of the competition following his elimination on Sunday.
“If someone had told me at the beginning that I would spend 11 weeks on the show, I would have been delighted.”
He also paid tribute to his dance partner, saying of himself: “You literally gave me everything I could ever want as a friend, as a teacher.”
In contrast, Jones described Cope as a “gentleman” but also “very humble and very kind.”
“I’m so glad we had the chance to see you and show the world your talent and what a beautiful person you are,” she added.
BBC/PADavies and Kuzmin earned a perfect score to top Saturday’s leaderboard.
EastEnders actor Balvinder Sopal and dance partner Julian Caillon came second with their Viennese Waltz to Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.
Internet star George Clarke danced the Argentinian tango to The Point Of No Return from The Phantom Of The Opera with his partner Alexis Warr.
Former Lionesses and sports broadcasters Karen Carney and Carlos Gu joined in the samba, dancing to Sweet Charity’s The Rhythm Of Life.
The remaining four couples will perform in the semi-finals next weekend, broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 18:35 GMT on Saturday 13 December, with the results shown next Sunday at 19:45 GMT.
Each couple will perform two new routines and there will be performances by Australian singer Kylie Minogue and boy band Five.
