Students get an insight into Mysuru’s heritage

Students and teachers of Christ University, Bengaluru, gained first-hand experience of Mysuru’s rich heritage and architectural legacy on January 27, as INTACH Mysuru chapter organized a heritage awareness program aimed at engaging the younger generation in conservation efforts.

As part of the program, participants visited heritage sites such as the City Hall, one of Mysuru’s prominent heritage buildings, and learned about the cultural and architectural significance of the city.

The students then attended an academic session at the Town Hall, where they were informed about what makes Mysuru an important heritage city and the need to preserve its heritage.

Heritage expert Prof. NS Rangaraju, retired professor of Ancient History and Archeology, University of Mysore, was the resource person for the programme. He guided the students, gave general information about the historical significance of Mysuru and interacted with them during the visit.

Prof. Rangaraju gave a lecture titled ‘Heritage Structures of Mysuru’, It offers information about the architectural wonders of the city and their historical importance.
