Sensational claims about Donald Trump in latest Epstein files

New files show Trump traveled on Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet at least eight times in the 1990s. British socialite and Epstein’s chief accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell was also a passenger on some of the flights. Here’s more on this topic.

The United States Department of Justice (DoJ) has released a new batch of documents related to investigations into disgraced US financier and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The newly released files have drawn renewed attention to US President Donald Trump and his years-long relationship with the pedophile. In a statement made shortly after the files were released, the Justice Department said the additional records may contain “untrue and sensational claims” about Trump. Although the two-time American president has not been charged with any crime in the Epstein case, references in the documents have raised a number of questions around him.

New files show Trump traveled on Epstein’s private jet at least eight times in the 1990s. British socialite and Epstein’s chief accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell was also a passenger on some of the flights. According to the documents, only Trump, Epstein and a 20-year-old person, whose name was not released to protect privacy, were on one of the flights. “Donald Trump traveled far more on Epstein’s private jet than previously reported (or that we know of),” an email included in the files states. This clearly contradicts Trump’s public statements claiming that he never got on Epstein’s plane.

One lawsuit referenced a rape allegation potentially involving Trump, though names and identifying information have been redacted. The dossier alleges that in a “very alarming” phone call from a limousine driver on his way to the airport in 1995, the 79-year-old president repeatedly said the name “Jeffrey” and talked about “harassing a girl.” The document also states: “Donald J. Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.”

One of the most sensational revelations is a handwritten letter attributed to Epstein and sent to fellow sex offender and former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. The note, which is said to have been written a few days before Epstein died by alleged suicide in 2019, includes the following lines: “Our president shares our love for young, attractive girls.” Although Trump’s name was not mentioned in the letter, Trump was serving his first term as president at that time (2016-2020). However, the Ministry of Justice emphasized that the note was not verified. Trump has always denied knowledge of or involvement in any of Epstein’s crimes.
