Burglar tracked down by neon t-shirt while eating fish and chips | News

Police managed to track down a wanted thief after his neon t-shirt was spotted by officers at a chip shop.

A thief stole four watches, a diamond ring and some currency during a burglary at a house in Southborough, Kent, on December 13, 2025.

Kent Police said a dog walker managed to catch the culprit “thanks to the neon-coloured T-shirt” he was seen running from the scene and he was arrested. He was eating a portion of fish and chips behind the counter while waiting for staff to charge his phone.

James Wall, 20, of Beverston Gardens, Bristol, pleaded guilty to theft and was sentenced to two years in prison on Wednesday, March 25.
