Serena Williams comeback: How will she fare at Wimbledon on singles return?

Williams hasn’t won a Grand Slam since the 2017 Australian Open when she was 35. She has since given birth to two daughters; Olympia, who is now eight, and Adira, who is two.
After her first comeback in 2018, Williams reached four Grand Slam finals, twice at Wimbledon and twice at the US Open, but lost them all.
Their last two Wimbledon appearances in 2021 and 2022 ended in first-round defeats.
What Williams has is one of the greatest technical talents ever seen and a unique aura.
Winning a 24th major title to break Margaret Court’s all-time women’s record seems out of reach, but Williams must have looked at the open nature of the WTA Tour and felt there were still plenty of players she could beat.
The power and accuracy of her serve was particularly effective on grass and she is hoping her opening shot will earn her plenty of free points.
He certainly has a good chance of winning a match at Wimbledon, especially if he faces a relatively inexperienced opponent who could be stunned by a sensational event on Center Court.
World number nine Victoria Mboko played doubles with Williams at Queen’s and is convinced the veteran is “ready to go”.
The 19-year-old Canadian player said, “He has such a clean ballstroke. He can take years off and probably find his rhythm and timing again when he steps on the field.”
“I really think it’s a god-given gift to him. I hit it with it and he hits it pretty big.”
Williams, in all his glory, was the embodiment of fitness and athleticism.
Last year, he admitted to using weight-loss drugs to eliminate what he called the “stigma” of using such drugs.
Williams said she had difficulty losing the weight she gained during pregnancy (a common experience for many women) and returned to tennis looking skinny.
“We’ve all seen him. He looks in incredible shape and is arguably in better shape than when he left the sport,” Davenport said.
“But we have to be graceful with the time we give it until it reaches its peak.”
Williams may not be at her best and she doesn’t know how long this comeback will take.
But one thing is for sure: the woman many see as the GOAT will go down fast in pursuit of regaining her former glory.
