Transfer guidelines sought for government degree college lecturers in A.P.

Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) on Friday demanded immediate publication of transfer guidelines for lecturers working in state universities.

Addressing a meeting in Vijayawada, they called for expediting recruitment to vacant university faculty posts as per available notifications and issuing admission notifications for government degree colleges without delay.

The association also appealed to the government to limit working hours in government colleges to 9.30am to 4pm, promote eligible college lecturers as degree college lecturers and ensure regular implementation of Career Development Scheme (CAS) promotions in universities.

Immediate release of pending fee refund charges paid to students, formation of Pay Revision Commission (PRC), release of four pending Dearness Allowance (DA) installments, effective implementation of Employee Health Scheme (EHS) and filling up of around 3,500 vacant posts of lecturers in government secondary schools were other demands of the Mahasangh.

At the meeting, issues related to faculty members working in state secondary and higher schools, engineering colleges, polytechnics and universities were reviewed. After detailed discussions, the leaders of the organization presented their representation to HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and senior officials of the Higher Education Department.
