India’s most influential studios Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE), Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Maddock Films have achieved the six biggest opening day box office figures of 2025.

1. Sikandar – 35.47 Cr (Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment)

NGE started its strong 2025 with Salman Khan’s Sikandar, clocking 35.47 crore gross on its first day; an entertainer who pleases the masses and lives up to his great excitement. With Salman’s stardom, Sajid Nadiadwala’s signature scale and high-voltage action, the film is guaranteed one of the biggest openings of the year.

2. House Full 5 – 24.35 Cr (Nadiadwala Grandchild Entertainment)

NGE added another major opening to its 2025 slate with Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, attracting a large number of families and franchise loyalists. The 24.35 crore opening showcased Housefull’s unrivaled appeal as a brand. Baaghi 4 is also posting a strong Rs. The 13.20 crore opening has been a triple whammy for NGE, further cementing Studio’s position among the top openers of the year.

3. Chhaava – 29.50 Cr (Maddock Movies)

Starting the year with a historic bang, Maddock’s Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, became the highest-grossing film of 2025 on its opening day. The masterpiece period drama has proven that audiences remain deeply invested in well-crafted historical narratives.

4. Thamma – 23 Cr (Maddock Movies)

Another successful film of Maddock was the horror drama Thamma, directed by Rashmika Mandanna. The film’s gripping premise, atmospheric narration and Rashmika’s powerful performance made it a huge success.

5. War 2 – 28 Cr (Yash Raj Movies)

YRF has reaffirmed its place as a cornerstone of big-budget action cinema with War 2, a high-octane sequel filled with adrenaline, rivalry and massive sets. The Hrithik Roshan starrer took the box office by storm, clocking one of the highest Day 1 figures of the year.
