Seth To Build Tech-Enabled Future-Ready Army

New Indian Army chief Gen Dhiraj Seth on Wednesday asserted that the Indian Army is a combat-ready and battle-hardened force, fully prepared and capable of meeting any challenge in the operational domain. General Seth emphasized the modernization of the Army and the plan to create a technology-based, future-ready force.
General Seth said after the guard of honor ceremony at South Block Lawns: “I assure every citizen of the country that the Indian Army is fully prepared and will always remain ready to defend the sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests of our nation.”
The Chief of Army Staff laid out his strategy to create a technology-driven, future-ready force that is fully empowered and capable of operating in multiple domains, under the acronym “VIJAY”. “To effectively respond to the evolving security environment, we must advance the modernization of the Army with renewed energy and determination,” he said.
Elaborating on “VIJAY”, the Chief of Defense Staff stated that “V” stands for vigilance with continued focus on being constantly alert across borders and against emerging threats while ensuring a high level of operational readiness. “I” stands for innovation and transformation, with an emphasis on innovation in doctrine, technology and capability development in line with the changing character of warfare.
The Chief of Staff stated that “J” stands for partnership and integration, underlining the need for full synergy and coordination with the Air Force and Navy. He underlined that national security is not limited to military power alone, but requires military-civilian integration and a whole-nation approach. This integrated approach will also contribute to nation building and the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, he said.
Referring to ‘A’ for ‘Aatmanirbharta’, General Seth said the Army will continue to strengthen indigenous capabilities and technologies with the goal of “winning our wars with indigenous solutions”. Explaining the ‘Y’ as ‘yodha first’, he said that every soldier, from Agniveers to the most senior veterans, is a yodha and the greatest strength of the Indian Army. The welfare, empowerment and professional development of veterans and Veer Naris, as well as improving the technological threshold and training standards of soldiers, will remain among its top priorities.
“I firmly believe that the ‘JAI’ (partnership, Aatmanirbharta and innovation) mantra given by the Prime Minister for the armed forces forms the basis of my priorities under the acronym ‘VIJAY’ and will guide us towards success. Therefore, my guiding motto will be ‘JAI se VIJAY’,” the army chief said.
General Seth also paid tribute to General Upendra Dwivedi and all former Chiefs of Defense Staff and acknowledged their vision and leadership in transforming the Indian Army into a strong, resilient and reliable force.
