RCB make huge change in coaching department ahead of Women’s Premier League 2026

Royal Challengers Bengaluru has made a major shake-up in its coaching department ahead of the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL). Know the whole story.
WPL 2026 will start on January 8
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is ready for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) after clinching the Indian Premier League (IPL) title for the first time in 18 years. Ahead of WPL 2026, RCB appointed former England pacer Anya Shrubsole as their new bowling coach. Shrubsole will work alongside Malolan Rangarajan, who will be the new head coach for next season. This is because Luke Williams has decided to leave due to his commitments with the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League (BBL).
The next edition of the WPL, which has been revised to align with the 2026 ICC Women’s World Cup scheduled for June/July next year, will start on January 8.
For those who don’t know, Shrubsole retired from international cricket in 2022. The upcoming WPL season will be the first in the tournament’s history. Before Shrubsole, Sunetra Paranjape was RCB’s bowling coach.
Other members of the RCB support team include batting coach R Muralidhar and Navnita Gautam, who is likely to continue her role as head physiotherapist. The WPL 2026 mega auction is expected to be held in New Delhi on November 26.
