Shirtless David Beckham gets the seal of approval from admiring wife Victoria as he shows off his tattooed torso during Mediterranean cruise aboard their £16million superyacht

David Beckham earned an approving look from his wife Victoria as they enjoyed a Spanish siesta on their family superyacht on Wednesday.

Beckham, who is currently enjoying spring break in Formentera with Victoria, son Romeo and daughter Harper, stripped down to the waist as temperatures continue to rise in the Mediterranean.

While his heavily tattooed upper body was exposed, the former Manchester United and England midfielder, 51, kept his Balearic suits safely covered with a white towel as he relaxed on their £16million yacht.

The family, accompanied by Romeo’s girlfriend Kim Turnbull, embarked on the cruise shortly after disembarking for lunch at local restaurant Es Moli de Sal.

Husband Victoria, 52, gave him an adoring look as he remained in the shade as he tanned under a wide-brimmed hat.

Clearly keen to make the most of their current trip, Kim put on a lilac bikini and went for a swim while her boyfriend Romeo relaxed on the lower deck of the boat.

The break comes as Victoria, who once had to borrow £30 million from her husband’s company, announced last week that she was open to selling her fashion brand.

The brand, which was founded in 2008, is reportedly £53.9 million in debt in 2022, but as sales rise to £112.7 million in 2024, the former Spice Girl revealed she would “never say never” about the sale.

“I never say never and I like to look at opportunities,” he told the Financial Times. ‘But right now I’m looking at growth but I never say never.’

Victoria continued: ‘I’m so excited, this is breaking news, my store in London is looking good so we’re about to open in New York and Miami.

‘For me, I relied on the internet until I opened stores in New York and Miami, but I want to be able to control the customer’s experience of walking in the store.

‘The next step is the expansion of retail and we’ll see where it goes next. I am very lucky.

‘I’m building a legacy brand, there are categories I haven’t gotten into yet so we see a huge opportunity and we’ve spent a long time getting it right and now it’s time to grow. ‘I want to build the house.’

In October, it was revealed that the Beckhams had trademarked the name HIKU BY Harper in the UK, paving the way for the beauty line’s debut.

However, according to reports, it is said that the young man’s plans were hit after his naming rights were rejected in the USA.

The US Patent and Trademark Office issued an ‘initial rejection’ on the grounds that the name could be confused with existing companies.

According to The Sun, this denial came because ‘Harper’ is a registered trademark for brooms and brushes, while ‘Hiku’ is a trademark for toiletries and fragrance products.

The Beckhams applied for the trademark in November and have six months to appeal the initial decision.

They planned to brand the name on makeup, acne skin care, shoes, clothing, keychains, stickers, hair decorations and brushes.

The Daily Mail has contacted Beckham’s representative for comment.

David and Victoria’s £16 million superyacht, named Seven after the former footballer’s famous jersey number, is a Riva 130 Bellissima model and was custom-built in Italy.

Last month, Victoria revealed how Harper’s ‘really bad’ struggle with acne inspired the teenager to launch her own beauty brand.

Appears in Emma Grede’s series suitor Victoria explained: ‘She came to me two or three years ago and was really struggling with her skin.

‘She used to have beautiful skin but like all young girls she was seduced by beauty brands and was putting a lot of products on her face that were not suitable for her skin and as a result she went to a dermatologist because her skin was really bad.’

Victoria detailed her struggle with acne and said she could relate to her daughter’s struggles: ‘[Harper] ‘I want to create a brand because I know what I want and I don’t want others to go through what I went through,’ he said.

The former Spice Girl said her daughter even approached her with PowerPoint presentations about the beauty brand she was proposing.

‘One [PowerPoint] “It’s about this brand that she wanted to create because she was struggling with her skin,” she said. ‘The other was a reason why I should let him.’

Victoria added: ‘I’m so proud of all my kids but you know Harper is very ambitious, very fit but I don’t know what I was expecting to be honest.

‘So, she’s been sitting on my lap and attending beauty enhancement meetings since she was little.’

The Beckhams have long protected the rights to their children’s names; Victoria registered Harper’s name for use on a range of branded products, including make-up, toys and clothing, when she was just five years old.

The family embarked on the cruise shortly after disembarking to have lunch at local restaurant Es Moli de Sal.

An intellectual property expert at the time said trademarking a child’s name was an unprecedented practice because the move was usually directed at those who were already famous.

Oliver Bray, a partner at international law firm RPC, told the Daily Mail: ‘This normally happens as your career progresses when a lawyer says, ‘Let’s get some protection.’

‘Unlike Victoria Beckham’s future work with her children.

‘This may be a sign of the times when social media and celebrities are being exploited.

‘To give you more leverage to control your image, trademarking is an obvious place to go, and society may be pushing the Beckhams to use these levers to protect their children in this more manipulative world we live in.’
