Shooting of Charlie Kirk was ‘political assassination,’ Utah governor says

Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was shot and killed during a shocking political violence that brought widespread condemnation at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
Hours later, the authorities said they had caught a person interested in shooting. However, the person was released without any accusation and the human hunt continues.
Law enforcement resources told Times that the armed man has killed Kirk at least 200 meters away using a kind of sniper rifle. The person’s name was not released and the authorities did not explain a possible reason.

UTAH Public Security Department Commissioner Beau Mason said that the authorities analyzed the campus security video showing a suspicious suspicion that may have fired Kirk from a roof.

The leading democrats also moved quickly to condemn the attack.
“The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, inferior and understandable, Cal California Gov said. Gavin Newsom X. “We must reject political violence in every way in the United States.”
Gabrielle Giffords, a former Arizona congress member, who survived a political assassination attempt in 2011 and defending armed violence prevention, was terrified to hear Kirk was shot in X.
“Democratic societies will always have political disagreements, but we should never allow America to become a country that confronts them with these disagreements,” he wrote.
Matthew Boedy, a Professor of Rhetoric and Composition at the University of North Georgia, wrote a book about Christian nationalism, which has distinctively involved in Kirk and its influence. The book “Seven Mountains Compulsory” appears on September 30th.
“Today is a tragedy, Boed Boedy said in an interview with The Times on Wednesday. “A red flag for our nation.”
Boedy said that after two assassination attempts against Trump last year, shooting was a tragic reminder of “how divisive we are”.
