Shots fired at Birmingham home for second time this week | UK | News

Police are launching an investigation after the occupants of a vehicle opened fire on a house in a city in England. The incident occurred at a property in Foley Road, Birmingham, in the early hours today (4 July).

West Midlands Police said no one was injured and they were “trying to identify those involved”. Police also said shots were fired at the house on Wednesday, adding that “there will be a visible presence in the area in the coming days.”

Officers are reviewing security cameras and conducting door-to-door inquiries.

A spokesman said: “We are investigating following shots fired at a property in Foley Road, Birmingham, earlier today (Saturday). “Thankfully no one was injured and we are trying to identify and trace those involved.

“Investigators understand that shots were fired into the house by the occupants of the vehicle just before 2.30am. This follows a similar incident at the property at around 7.30pm on Wednesday, July 1, in which no one was injured.

“Following the incident, the family involved have been taken into protective custody and officers are continuing to review CCTV footage as we try to determine who is responsible.

“Door-to-door inquiries are also being carried out and there will be a visible police presence in the area in the coming days.

“We know how worrying gun crime is and we are working around the clock to remove guns from the streets of the West Midlands.”
