Six are arrested for murder as man, 22, is stabbed to death in Clapham knife fight that also saw four injured
Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in Clapham this morning.
Police were called at 4.37am to reports that a 22-year-old man had later died from stab wounds.
Four other men were taken to hospital with stab wounds, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-threatening.
Four men, three aged 22 and one aged 24, were among those arrested, as were two other men aged 27 and 23, who were arrested at the hospital.
The stabbing is believed to have occurred in the area of Tremadoc Road and Clapham High Street, where officers are investigating this afternoon.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, said police investigations were ‘moving rapidly’ and the victim was stabbed at around 4.20am.
He said the number of police officers would increase throughout the day as the investigation continues.

The victim’s name has not yet been released but the Metropolitan Police said his relatives have been informed and supported.
Detective chief inspector Lee said: ‘Our inquiries are progressing rapidly and we understand the victim was stabbed near Tremadoc Road in Clapham at around 4.20am.
‘Those in the area will continue to notice an increased police presence throughout the day as these investigations continue.
‘Officers have arrested six people on suspicion of murder and we are working quickly to establish what happened.’
Inspector Mark Gallacher said: ‘This is a tragic incident and our officers continue to support the family of the young man who sadly died.
‘We understand this will cause concern in the local community and specialist detectives are doing everything possible to establish what happened.
‘We would urge anyone with any information or who may have witnessed anything in the early hours to contact us and support the ongoing investigation.’
