Six-day traffic curbs at old Chalakudy bridge in Thrissur to trigger diversions

Traffic restrictions will come into force along the national highway at Koratty in Thrissur district on Saturday after the old bridge over the Chalakudy river was closed for urgent repair work and load testing.

The closure, which will begin at 21:00 on Saturday, will remain in effect for six consecutive days. During this period, all vehicle movements crossing the old west side bridge will be completely stopped. Vehicles will instead be routed across the east bridge, where traffic will be regulated by a single-lane, two-way system.
