Six injured, others trapped after floor collapse at New Hampshire wedding venue

Six people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the floor collapsed at a wedding venue on Saturday. tamworth, new hampshire.

Before first responders arrived, other guests and staff helped some people who had fallen from the basement using ladders and gave first aid to people with minor injuries, an office spokesman said late Saturday. It is unclear how many people were treated at the scene and investigators are still trying to determine the extent of injuries.
A photo from the Fire Marshal’s Office shows a chandelier and white bunting adorning the ceiling above buckled floorboards, along with stacked benches that were used as wedding seating before the collapse.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the collapse alongside Tamworth Fire/Rescue Department, a spokesman said on Saturday. A spokesman said in a statement that inspectors believed the building was “over capacity” before the floor collapsed.
First responders who arrived at the scene shortly after the 911 call came in said that half of the floor of the building where the wedding ceremony was to be held fell into the basement due to browser traffic wiretapped on Broadcastify. He said about 145 people were at the event and asked for more first responders to speak with witnesses. The responder also said they were carefully moving people out of the building’s basement.
