SLINEX-25: India, Sri Lanka Strengthen Maritime Cooperation With Bilateral Naval Drill | India News

In a statement on Friday, an official on Friday, to encourage bilateral sea cooperation, on August 14-18, Sri Lanka Indian Sea Exercise (Slinex-25) 12. to participate in the pressure of Indian sea ships Ins Rana (Guided Missile Muhrip) and Ins Jyyi (Filet Tank) Colombo.

Slinex, which was conceptualized in 2005, is a binary maritime exercise that strengthens maritime cooperation between the two countries for twenty years.

Slinex aims to change together workability, maritime cooperation and the best practices and to undertake multi -faceted maritime operations together. Slinex’s previous edition was made between 24 – 20 December in Visakhapatnam, India.

The exercise will be held in two stages – the port stage in Colombo until 16 August, then the sea phase between 17-18 August.

SLNS GAJABAHU and Vijayabahu (both developed open sea patrol ships) will represent the Sri Lanka navy and the special forces of both navy will also take part in the exercise.

During the port stage, professional interactions, subject expert exchange (SMEE), the sharing of the best practices, cultural and social changes, yoga sessions and sports activities, which will further support the friendship and friendship bonds between the two navale.

Marine exercises planned during the sea phase include artillery fires, communication protocols, navigation, maritime evolution, visiting board and vigil (VBSS) and fueling at sea.

Slinex maritime exercise exemplifies the deep participation between India and Sri Lanka, which strengthens cooperation in the field of maritime in accordance with the policy of mutual and holistic progress for security and growth between India and Mahasagar regions.

In another development, Ins Tamal, the latest secret frigate of the Indian Navy in Naples, Italy since August 13, celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day on Friday.

Ins Tamal was in Naples during the transition to India after being assigned in Russia on July 1.

The visit has been aiming to increase co -operation and partnership between both Navey, which has focused on expanded cooperation in defense, energy and technology since the increase in a ‘strategic partnership’ in 2023.

Ins Tamal joined a passage exercise (PASSEX) with the Trieste of the Italian Navy, the landing platform of the Italian Navy before entering the harbor in Naples. During Passex, there were communication exercises, maneuvers and flight procedures between common operations.

The participation of the ship during the port call includes interaction with civil dignity in Naples, visits inter-donuts, high-level Italian navy officials and discussions and cultural activities in honor of Indo-Italian relations.
