Small aircraft crashes into field in Ongar, Essex as police declare ‘serious incident’

Emergency services are investigating a “serious” small plane crash at the Essex field.

Essex Police said officers were called to the incident near Mill Lane, Ongar, at 12.30pm on Tuesday.

It is not yet known whether he is injured or not. Officers remain on scene.

Detective Superintendent Morgan Cronin said: “This is a serious incident and we understand it will cause concern in the local community.

“We are working closely with emergency service partners to respond and ensure the area is safe.

“There will be a visible police presence while we deal with this incident.

“We would ask residents to avoid Mill Lane while this work is ongoing and we thank them for their patience and understanding.”
