Firefighters rescued a small dog that had been missing for weeks after finding it floating in San Francisco Bay.

The dog went missing over the Fourth of July weekend, according to the Menlo Park fire protection district. But on July 16, someone called 911 to say they saw a dog entering the bay near the Dumbarton Bridge in East Palo Alto.

The Menlo Park fire district mobilized at least two trucks, a boat and an airboat in pursuit of the dog. Rescuers first observed it from the ground using binoculars. They then used a drone as they followed him from the water.
