SNL brands Meghan an ‘American terrorist’ in brutal gag about King Charles’ visit

Saturday Night Live blasted King George III by branding Meghan Markle a ‘terrorist’ and mocking President Trump’s relationship with the disgraced royal’s brother Andrew. He targeted Charles’ historic visit to America.

The sketch show poked fun at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship in one of several risqué shots of the King’s trip to the US this week.

Host Michael Che began the show’s ‘Weekend Update’ segment by mocking the royal family, noting that Charles met with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani during his whistle-stop tour of the northeast.

“I’m surprised you didn’t take Mamdani with you to England because she’s an Indian treasure,” Che joked.

The joke was a dig at Mamdani’s divisive remarks before greeting the King, who he said would pressure him to return the Koh-i-Noor diamond seized by the East India Company in 1849 to India.

Comedian Colin Jost then took aim at Prince Harry and Markle, saying celebrating America’s 250th anniversary wasn’t the only reason for King Charles’ trip across the pond.

Jost featured a photo of the couple, adding that the visit was also “aimed at the release of a British hostage held by an American terrorist.”

The presenters wrapped up the segment with a controversial joke about ex Prince Andrew.

Jost noted that King Charles gifted Trump a golden bell from a World War II submarine called HMS Trump, which was commissioned by the British Royal Navy in 1944.

He reported that the King told Trump, “If you need to contact us, just call us.”

A photo of Andrew later appeared on the show, with Jost adding: ‘Or Trump could call the guy on his phone ‘Andrew (Island)’.”

This trip was his first as monarch and saw the King give a respected speech to the US Congress and meet with many leading figures.

At a state dinner at the White House on Tuesday, Trump risked embarrassing Charles by making a surprising statement about the King’s private views on Iran and nuclear weapons.

Trump gave an impassioned and highly complimentary speech celebrating the enduring alliance between the US and the UK, but he also couldn’t help but drift into tensions in the Middle East.

‘We are currently doing a small study in the Middle East. And we’re doing very well,’ he said, adding: ‘We will never allow this rival to have nuclear weapons… Charles agrees with me, even more than I do… We will never allow this rival to have nuclear weapons.’

These words, which suggested that the King privately shared Trump’s harsh attitude towards Iran, were met with applause in the hall.

But while many praised Charles’ visit to the US this week, California Democrat Ro Khanna told the Daily Mail he was unhappy that the monarch did not mention Jeffrey Epstein during his high-profile speech.

‘It was very disappointing to hear the British Ambassador tell me that the King would be speaking about survivors and sex trafficking. The King’s failure to acknowledge the pain caused by his brother is a moral failure and emblematic of elite impunity, which is an ongoing affront to survivors,’ Representative Khanna said.

In an exclusive comment to the Daily Mail, Khanna also stated that this omission was ‘disrespectful to the survivors, including Sky and Amanda Roberts (Virginia Giuffre’s family), with whom I held a roundtable this morning’.

‘The British Ambassador told me that the King will at least remember Epstein survivors and victims of sex trafficking in his speech. “This is a moral failure and emblematic of the impunity of elites that Americans and people around the world are fed up with,” he added.

“I think the King didn’t want to talk about Epstein,” Republican Nancy Mace told the Daily Mail when asked about the reaction to the address.
