Britain is bracing for even colder weather, with snow expected as far south as London within a few weeks. New maps from WXCHARTS, using MetDesk data, reveal that a period of unstable conditions will begin on March 4. Up to 15cm of snow is expected to fall in parts of Scotland in less than two weeks as temperatures drop to -4C.

The Highlands and Moray regions, which are much colder than the average winter temperature of 6C, are expected to be the worst affected areas. In England, milder conditions are expected; In most areas, snow is avoided entirely and temperatures remain at an average of 2C.

These areas include: Derbyshire, Northumberland, North Yorkshire and Westmorland and Furness.

Separately, the Met Office’s forecast for 25 February to 6 March reads: “This period may change due to Atlantic frontal systems moving across the country and shorter dry and bright interludes in between.”
