All about the ‘former-cattle shed’ dubbed perfect for Sarah Ferguson | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson will reportedly move into a modest “granny flat” at her daughter Princess Beatrice’s home after being evicted from Royal Lodge.

The former Duchess of York, 66, is said to be “nervous” about the prospect of homelessness, with sources suggesting she and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, are parting ways.

They are expected to be expelled from the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park soon due to the scandal surrounding the former royal family.

It is believed Sarah may reside in the “granny annexe” at the £3.5 million Oxfordshire mansion owned by daughter Beatrice and son-in-law Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

An insider said: “It would be perfect for the former Duchess as she would be close to her daughter but also completely independent of the main house where Beatrice and Eduardo live.”

“Sarah can walk just a few meters and babysit her beloved Sienna at her place, and since Eugenie lives in Portugal, it makes perfect sense.”

The annexe is a small, one-bedroom former cattle shed on Beatrice’s home in a charming village.

Beatrice, 37, and Eduardo, 41, recently renovated the annexe; Planning documents on the council’s website reveal they have made several changes to the property over the years.

The property is ready for author Sarah to potentially move in before Christmas, but Andrew, 65, is expected to spend one last festive season at the Royal Lodge.

The source revealed to the Mail on Sunday last week: “Grandma’s annexe now looks ready to move in.

“It would be perfect for Fergie, wouldn’t it? The stonework has been redone, the gutters have been renewed, the woodwork has been beautifully painted. It has its own entrance.”

A delivery of propane gas cylinders for the outbuilding reportedly arrived at the property during freezing weather last month.

The accommodation already had the necessary amenities for Sarah, who had lived with Andrew for decades despite their divorce in 1996.

The former owners of the Oxfordshire property completed the extension but, according to local residents, the building has undergone extensive refurbishment in recent months.

The masonry was rearranged and the drainage system was replaced; While the annexe has its own separate entrance, sources suggest it would suit the embattled Duke of York’s ex-wife perfectly.

However, previous reports had suggested that Fergie was planning to move abroad following the Andrew scandal.

Princess Eugenie owns a £3.6 million coastal property in Portugal, while her sister and closest ally Jane Ferguson resides in Australia. However, the possibility of a return closer to home seems more likely for the grandmother of four, who has been a television personality in this country in recent years.

This could potentially pave the way for more media work here, despite rumors stating that Sarah has lost her place on This Morning and other ITV programmes.
