Soldier assaulted at U.P. toll plaza, Army condemns; six held, NHAI slaps ₹20 lakh fine on operator

It was claimed that Jawan was attacked by Toll Plaza employees in the Meerut region of Uttar Pradesh, who returned to the post after permission, and asked six people to be arrested and sued by the NHAI to sue against the paid operator and to be on a strong condemnation of the Indian Army.

The incident, which led to the protests of Meerut natives and created anger on social media after the video appeared, took place on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Bhuni Toll Plaza in Sarurpur region and went to the Kapil Delhi Airport, a soldier from Gotka village broadcasted in Srinagar.

When his car was caught on a long queue and when he asked the paid personnel to clean the road faster, a discussion started. Authorities, the debate increased and Mr. Kapil was beaten by Toll Plaza employees, he said.

Based on CCTV footage and a complaint filed by the soldier’s family, the police have arrested a lawsuit and arrested six employees.

Police Inspector (rural) Raqes Kumar Mishra said that paid personnel and some local youth tied Mr. Kapil and his friends to a pole and attacked them. He said he was trying to define and destroy others.

The consciousness of the incident was punished on Monday, August 18, 2025, the Indian National Highways Authority (NHAI) and Toll Collection Agency M/S Dharam Singh called La 20 Lakh for calling “Mash in a Violence”.

The authority also launched a process to terminate the agency’s contract and deprive future offers.

“NHAI strongly condemns such behavior by Toll Plaza staff and is determined to provide safe and trouble -free travel on national highways.” He said.

The central command of the Indian Army was weighed with a sharp reaction.

In an article in X, he said: “The army strongly condemns such an event against a serving military service. Minister, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) murder, illegal assembly and robbery under the provisions of an oven was recorded and the army offers a protest with NHAI, he added.

“The Indian Army is determined to provide justice and the case will continue its logical conclusion.” He said.

In addition to the reaction in social media, the incident triggered public protests on Monday, angry peasants gathered in a paid plaza, raised slogans and allowed vehicles to pass without paying payment.

BJP leader and former Sardhana Mla Thakur Sangeet Som also reached the site and joined the villagers in a seating protest.

SP (rural) Mr. Mishra said that the additional police force from several stations to control the situation and soothe the crowd.

Mishra, based on CCTV images and written complaints, Sachin, Vijay, Anuj, Ankit, Surresh Rana and Ankit Sharma identified as six defendants, was arrested for attacking the military and will be produced in front of the court, he said.
