Government restores entry of women into T.N. Special Police

About 14 years later, the Tamil Nadu government brought women’s entrance and reservation back to Tamil Nadu Special Police (TSP or ‘Armed Police’ or ‘Battalion Police’) and 17 years later, the single -entry system for the recruitment of police officers.

He pointed to the bar in including women in TN Special Police and said that a single -entry system would enable women to enter each of the TSP battalions.

Previously, one of the 15 teaspoons of battalions – Vaishnavi Nagar near Avadi – Vat Battalion – was only for women. Some battalions only had one/some companies for women. In 2011, however, orders were not only in the TSP, but to the SI and Constable ranks to hire only in the Taluk/Armed Reserve categories.

Since 1990, the police officers, who participated in armed police battalions on recruitment, were later shifted to the regional armed reserve and then to the Taluk Police Station. However, in 2008, TSP and districts/cities were decided to make separate recruitment for armed reserves.

The lack of a single entrance system, while the candidates hired in previous years continued to serve in armed police battalions, then the hired people were promoted to the police stations.

TSP’s officers and personnel are placed in various sections within and outside the state for large law and order taxes, including election duties.

As in January 1 this year, the total sanction power of the TN police was 1,33,961 officers and staff. 26,589 of this were female staff. In April this year, with the recruitment of the SI for Taluks and the armed reserve, 30% of the empty positions were reserved for female candidates.
