Jamie laughed as Sophie added: ‘Please don’t go near my baby and risk giving him germs.
He continued, pointing at Jamie: ‘You were going to be like me. “No, but that woman said we should give them immune systems, smother them with kisses, stranger, and it’s giving me sleepless nights.”
Jamie replied with a laugh: ‘No, I won’t be like that. Honey, I said this, someone said you should let them get dirty, so I said, “Oh, then we’ll take them to the garden and put mud on them.”

The former Made In Chelsea star, 30, who is expecting her first child with her 36-year-old husband Jamie Laing, said that even the thought of people kissing her newborn baby gave her sleepless nights.
Fighting back her laughter, Sophie told the cameras: ‘Yes, he really said that. ‘We’ll put the baby in like mud and not bathe him, so I probably wasn’t at the newborn stage either.’
Jamie laughed and added: ‘That’s what I thought!’
Sophie announced to fans that she was expecting her first child with husband Jamie in June.
The loved-up couple tied the knot in a lavish Spanish wedding in 2023.
Earlier this week, Jamie shared a new video showing the property’s stunning transformation, joking that he ‘almost divorced’ Sophie during the renovation of their London home.
Jamie shares clips of the abode as he and Sophie prepare to welcome their baby.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Jamie poked fun at the idea that a home renovation would bring him and Sophie ‘closer together’.
The clip then cuts to Jamie dancing in their converted bathroom with the text on the screen reading: ‘We’re doing a victory dance because we didn’t get divorced.’
Speaking on the Almost Parents podcast, Sophie said: ‘No one will kiss my baby. And I’m going to say this on this podcast: If anyone comes and kisses my newborn baby, I’ll punch them in the face.’
Jamie laughed as Sophie added: ‘Please don’t go near my baby and risk giving him germs.’
Jamie’s new home features a stunning white en suite bathroom, complete with vintage tiled floors and a large walk-in shower.
Opening to one of the home’s five bedrooms, the clip shows dark wood furniture and a neutral color scheme.
Jamie took to social media last month to show off his new home in trendy Notting Hill, west London, which he and Sophie bought for £4.1million last year.
She took her 1.6 million followers on a tour of the downstairs, proudly showing them the Mediterranean-style open-plan kitchen with a large, marble-topped island in the middle.
The state-of-the-art kitchen, with plenty of natural light thanks to four skylights, opens onto a terraced garden on one side and an open-plan living area tastefully decorated with family pictures and decorations. It is surrounded by limewashed walls.
But before Jamie and Sophie moved into their dream home, the five-bedroom semi-detached property looked quite different.
In photos taken when it was launched last year, it appeared to have an old-fashioned, disheveled look. The kitchen, which had an all-white finish, had a smaller island and no high-end stove, as it does now.
The living room had a rectangular marble table surrounded by wooden chairs, and two large, comfortable armchairs faced a pair of wooden patio doors that opened onto a small terrace overlooking an overgrown, narrow garden.
The couple, who got married in 2023, will give birth to their first child together later this year.
Earlier this week, Jamie shared a new video showing the property’s stunning transformation, joking that he ‘almost divorced’ Sophie during the renovation of their London home.
The property had the feel of a suburban family home rather than a flashy, luxury townhouse, following a 14-month renovation project led by interior designer Jojo Barr of House Nine, a leading interior design firm.
Jamie amassed his fortune through a series of business ventures, including co-founding sweet manufacturing company Candy Kittens in 2012.
His ancestor Alexander Grant also helped invent Digestives and is the founder of the McVitie’s brand.
Jamie has also appeared in Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Gogglebox and The Great British Bake Off.
He co-hosts the popular podcast NearlyParents with his wife Sophie, which has attracted the attention of major advertisers such as cosmetics brand Max Factor.
Their new neighbors said the couple had ‘settled well’ into their new life in Notting Hill and appeared to be enjoying their time in the well-to-do area.
One said: ‘I saw him running the other day. They have a very nice house, but there are also a lot of people around. ‘Because so many famous people live in this area, no one pays much attention to them.’
Another said: ‘The building business has gone on for a long time, but that’s not unusual because there are a lot of rich people around here and there’s always someone commissioning the building work.
‘About three different major projects are currently underway on the road where Jamie and Sophie live. These are always handled properly to ensure residents are not negatively impacted. This isn’t the kind of area where you want to disturb your neighbours.’
Sharing his new home on Instagram, Jamie captioned his post ‘Just in time’ and then tagged Sophie and wrote: ‘My wife and I bought our first house and started renovating it…
‘After 14 months, 10,000 arguments and a near divorce, we’re finally done.’
