Enzo Maresca: Chelsea boss denies Manchester City links

Chelsea Manager Enzo Maresca says reports identify him as potential successor Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola’s views are “100% speculation”.
The 45-year-old is Guardiola’s former assistant at City and there have been numerous reports that his mentor could leave his position at the end of this season.
The Italian footballer was appointed as Chelsea’s manager in June 2024 and has a contract until 2029, with the option to extend for another season.
Asked if there was any truth to the municipality news, Maresca said: “It doesn’t affect me at all because I know it’s 100% speculation. And there’s no time for that kind of thing right now.”
“First of all, because I probably have a contract here until 2029. And I have said many times that my focus is only on this club and I am very proud to be here. But again, this is speculation. A week ago I was in Italy, the same happened in Juventus. So I do not pay attention to it because I know it is not true.”
Chelsea, which is in fourth place, will face Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday at 12:30 CET.
